Events

Good coffee, wherever you’re gathering.

A full espresso bar, brought to the place it is happening and set up before anyone arrives. Made properly, and handed to people on a day they will remember.Tell us about the dayHours, distance and what we need

What arrives

A cart, a machine, a grinder, and someone who knows how to use them. We bring our own water and need one ordinary outlet, which indoors is usually already there.

Setup takes about an hour and happens before your guests arrive, and breakdown is quick. What we leave behind is the room the way we found it.

Nobody pays at the bar

One price, agreed before the day, covering everyone who wants a cup. Your guests never reach for a wallet and we do not count cups — if the line comes back around, it comes back around.

Espresso

Lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, cortados, pulled to order by a barista.

Batch brew

For volume, and for the people who just want a good cup of coffee without being asked a question about it.

Not coffee

Tea, hot chocolate, matcha. A wedding is not the day to make someone feel like an afterthought.

Iced & cold brew

For summer, and for outdoor events where hot drinks are optimistic.

Light fare

Pastries and simple food on request. Ask early and we will tell you what is possible.

Occasions

Wherever the day is, the bar goes.

Weddings

A morning ceremony, a brunch reception, or late in the evening. A real bar, handsome enough for the photographs, and one less thing to think about.

Corporate & Offsites

Mornings that start well tend to go well. Full service through your agenda, or a set window either side of it.

Memorials

Quiet, gracious, and arranged at short notice. We set up without being noticed and leave the same way, with nothing for the family to manage.

IU & Campus

Department receptions, parents' weekend, graduation, an alumni morning. We roast in Bloomington, so campus is a short run.

Churches & Gatherings

Before, between or after the service. We are used to a crowd that arrives all at once and leaves the same way.

Open Houses & Launches

A reason to linger. The bar draws people in and gives them something to stand around, which is usually the point.

Graduations & Birthdays

The days a family decides to mark properly. Small enough for a backyard, equipped for a good deal more.

Markets & Festivals

Outdoors, all day, self-contained when it has to be. Built for the long shift and the line that comes with it.

The coffee itself

Mid-service

We roast the coffee ourselves, a few miles up the road in Bloomington, and we can tell you whose farm it came from and what we paid for it.

That is the part we would want to know, if it were our day. The coffee at your wedding was roasted by the person handing it to you.

Coffee with your name on it

Because we roast it, we can label it. A blend picked for the day and jars marked for your guests to take home, or bags with a company’s mark on them for the office afterward.

You do not have to take our word for any of it. The bar pours at Fig Tree Market in Ellettsville Monday to Saturday — come and drink the coffee before you decide. No appointment, no tasting fee, no obligation to book anything.

Practical

Where we go

Anywhere within about 45 minutes of Bloomington at no extra charge — Ellettsville, Spencer, Bedford, Nashville, Columbus and the country between. Further out, we add mileage at the current IRS rate. Further still for the right day — ask.

Venues around here

Woolery Mill, Oliver Winery, Switchyard Park, the barns out past Spencer — all inside the free radius.

What we need

A level spot roughly ten feet by six, and one standard outlet on a dedicated 15–20 amp circuit. Indoors that is rarely a question. Water we bring ourselves.

If it is outdoors

We will ask for a rain plan — a tent, a porch, a room to move to. Espresso machines and weather are a bad combination.

Nowhere to plug in

We can bring a generator if there is no power where you are. Request it when you inquire.

How long

Most bookings run two to four hours of service. Longer days and split windows are straightforward.

How many

We serve twenty guests comfortably, and up to around three hundred. Beyond that we bring a second bar.

What it costs

It depends on the day — hours, headcount, distance, menu. Tell us those and you will have a number, not a brochure.

Short notice

Memorials especially. If the date is close, say so and we will tell you straight away whether we can be there.

Booking

Holding a date

A 50% deposit holds it; the balance is due the week before. Until the deposit is paid, nothing is booked.

If the day moves

Plans change. Give us reasonable notice and we will move you to another date at no extra charge.

Insurance

We carry liability insurance and will send a certificate straight to your venue. Most venues ask for one.

How far ahead

We book up to a year out. Popular Saturdays go first, and short notice is still worth asking about — especially for memorials.

The menu

Signature drinks and custom items by request, so long as we know early enough to practice them. We do not serve alcohol.

Tips

There can be a tip jar on the bar if you would like one. Nothing is added to your quote, and you are not expected to cover gratuity yourself.
